Kelly Dopman Named New Vice President for Institutional Advancement
Kelly Dopman of St. Louis is the new vice president for institutional advancement at Westminster College.
In her new position, Dopman will be responsible for educating and involving faculty, staff, trustees and senior administrators of the Westminster community in the College’s fundraising process. While assisting in efforts to enhance institutional image and visibility and delivering strong and consistent messaging for Westminster, Dopman will also work to enhance and better leverage planned, corporate and foundation giving; engage and mobilize alumni, friends and volunteers; and expand and strengthen a sustainable infrastructure to support future fundraising efforts.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the advancement team at Westminster,” Dopman says. “I look forward to engaging alumni, sharing ideas with faculty and leading efforts that will help ensure the College can continue transforming lives and creating leaders for generations to come.”
Previously, Dopman spent more than 15 years as the director of development for MICDS (Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School) in St. Louis, where she oversaw all aspects of the organization’s fundraising efforts, including annual fund, capital, endowed and planned gifts. During her years at MICDS, Dopman also created a reunion class giving program to increase dollars and participation rates for the annual fund, established an MICDS presence in key cities outside of the St. Louis area and helped secure the largest single gift in the school’s history. She also launched the MICDS’s Bold Action Campaign, a comprehensive fundraising campaign that has garnered more than $80 million in donations for the school.
“Kelly brings to Westminster remarkable knowledge and experience in advancement and education,” says Westminster President Benjamin Ola. Akande. “We are a better institution because she is here.”
