Andrew Green Named New Director of Student Involvement
A familiar face at Westminster, Andrew Green, has been named the new Director of Student Involvement at the College.
For the past five years, Green has performed various duties at the College, including the freshmen leadership course LST 101, Greek leadership and exercise/health science.
In his new role, he will provide oversight and supervision to the Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association, New Student Week, student organizations/activities and will assist with the SOAR program, conduct, and on-call responsibilities.
“I am so excited to accept the Director of Student Involvement position at Westminster,” Green says. “This transition will allow me to totally immerse myself into student life on campus. These last five years I’ve been very fortunate to build many strong relationships with our students, faculty, and staff. I believe these relationships will allow campus involvement to thrive and add to our already diverse and inclusive population.”
Green is already a member of the Green Dot team and Partners in Prevention on campus.
He became a member of the Missouri Beta Chapter of Phi Delta Theta fraternity at the age of 30 after becoming employed at Westminster.
He served as a staff sponsor for a group of Student Athlete Advisory Committee members who attended the NCAA APPLE Conference, a program to prevent drug and alcohol abuse among student athletes, in Washington, D.C. (2015) and Dallas (2016).
After growing up with his two brothers in Marceline, MO, Green earned his bachelor’s degree in history with minors in education and business and a master’s degree in education, curriculum & instruction.
He began his career as a junior high/high school social studies teacher but left to complete a graduate assistantship in pursuit of a career in higher education.
Once he completed the graduate assistantship, he took the position as an assistant and now Associate Head Basketball Coach in the athletic department.
Currently, he lives in Fulton with his wife, Marilyn, and four-year-old Shih Tzu-Terrier, Pearl.
“Dean Lacey has assembled a great team in Residential and Greek Life, and I am looking forward to working hand-in-hand with these departments. I want to thank the committee and Dr. Lacey for giving me this opportunity to be able to work so closely with our student body.”
