Kappa Alpha Fraternity Chapter Named One of Top Two in Nation

The Alpha Eta Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order at Westminster College was named one of the top two chapters in the nation at the fraternity’s national Province Council meeting in Memphis, TN last weekend.

Alpha Eta received the George C. Marshall Award for Chapter Excellence presented annually to the top one to three chapters in the Order in recognition of their superior operations and performance.   This is the highest honor any KA chapter can receive and Alpha Eta was one of only two fraternities honored this year.

“I want to congratulate all the students and alumni who work so diligently to ensure our KA house is one of the best chapters in the Brotherhood,” says Westminster President Benjamin Ola. Akande.

This marks the third year in a row and the fifth time out of the past seven years that Alpha Eta has received the Marshall Award.  The chapter has won the award a total of twelve times in its history.

Alpha Eta also earned its 33rd Samuel Zenas Ammen Award, given to chapters that are recognized for excellence in finances, recruitment and chapter growth, communications, Project Outreach, Operation Crimson Gift and overall chapter excellence.  Only the top 10% of all KA chapters receive this award, and Alpha Eta has won one for the past five years in a row.

In addition, Alpha Eta received the Scholastic Excellence Award for their overall House GPA of 3.25 for the 2014 fall semester, the Excellence in Educational Programming Award, and the Outstanding Recruitment and Chapter Growth Award.

“Alpha Eta has a rich history of chapter achievements and strong leadership and has played a significant role in the wellbeing of Westminster and the Fulton community through their involvement in our campus life and charitable service,” says President Akande.  “We can all take great pride in the outstanding way they represent Westminster.”
